A Quick Note About Location

You must live within reasonable driving distance of Troy/Dayton, Ohio, to be considered.

While you'll work primarily from home, we occasionally meet in person with clients and our team. This is a locally based position, not a nationwide remote opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day is a little different! You'll work with a variety of small business and nonprofit clients, helping them maintain accurate books and understand their financial picture.

• Manage bookkeeping for multiple clients, with the support of our team.

• Handle bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.

• Review financial statements, spot discrepancies, and figure out how to fix them.

• Keep client accounts accurate, organized, and up to date using QuickBooks Online.

• Communicate with clients, answer questions, and follow up on needed information.

• Balance multiple deadlines and shift gears as client needs change.

• Occasionally help clients learn their way around QuickBooks Online.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

We're looking for someone who understands accounting, not just how to enter transactions.

The Must-Haves:

• At least 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience.

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (not just Desktop).

• Experience with reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statements.

• Ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and investigate why.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented attitude.

• Comfortable working from home while staying connected with your team.

Bonus Points If You:

• Have worked with multiple clients in a bookkeeping or accounting firm.

• Have nonprofit accounting experience.

• Enjoy teaching others and explaining accounting concepts.

• Love a good accounting mystery and get satisfaction from solving it!
